Who we are

Campus Innovation Group e.V. (CIG) is a non-profit student initiative in Saarland — based at the Innovation Center of Saarland University. Our goal is to prepare students for their careers through hands-on experience, while giving organizations access to motivated talent and fresh perspectives.

We work in interdisciplinary teams and focus on clear formats: projects, case studies, workshops, and networking. For us, it’s not “consulting for consulting’s sake” — it’s learning by doing, structured, reliable, and focused on tangible outcomes.

CIG exists where theory reaches its limits: we create spaces where students take ownership, learn practical methods, and tackle real challenges. Companies and partners benefit from direct exchange on campus — early, approachable, and on equal footing.

Our mission & values

CONNECT

We connect students with each other — for exchange, collaboration, and shared growth beyond the traditional curriculum.

INNOVATE

We promote structured thinking, modern methods, and bold perspectives — turning challenges into clear approaches and next steps.

GROW

We foster personal and professional development through hands-on formats: students learn in workshops and case formats, reflect on their work, and grow through feedback and exchange.

Our vision

We want to become the go-to place in Saarland for hands-on talent and project formats on campus. To get there, we’re building a community that connects learning, collaboration, and impact — rooted locally and open to international impulses.

Empower students

Learn by doing, take ownership, and build relevant skills for a strong career start.

Enhance the campus experience

More formats, more exchange, more mentoring — across disciplines and universities.

Enable knowledge transfer

Bring campus knowledge into practice — through case studies, workshops, and well-scoped projects.

Create lasting impact

Build long-term partnerships and a culture that values growth, fairness, and reliability.
